Marble Paper Scissors, a collection of papier peint architectural objects designed and crafted by Thomas Engelhart.

Thomas Engelhart lives and works in New York, where he creates objects and small furniture covered with his own hand painted paper. He creates the shapes out of wood or bookbinders board, and then he paints the papers that will cover the shapes. On occasion (on this occasion particularly often) he appropriates printed papers from existing, old, books. These are glazed with a tinted lacquer to enhance and protect.

When all these elements are together, when the shape has been wrapped in the handpainted papers, the object has a little life of its own. 

Thomas Engelharts pieces are one of a kind, hand painted and hand made by him in his New York studio.
