A stunning and rare example of 'The London Jug' produced by the firm of Josiah Wedgwood specially produced for Liberty of London.
Made in England. Designed by Victor Skellern in 1966.
To the front of the jug is a quote from Dr Samuel Johnson LL.D poem penned in the year 1738 "When a man is tried of London he is tired of life" in a bold black script onto a plain white background.
To the rear of the jug/pitcher/creamer is a poem by William Wordsworth Westminster Bridge written in 1802.
The base is stamped Wedgwood of Etruia R, Barlaston. Made in England. The London Jug. Quotes Dr Samuel Johnson LL.D 1709-1780. Poem Westminster Bridge by William Wordsworth September 3rd 1802.
